Lincoln College’s original building – 45 Brougham Place – is about to undergo significant restoration to its external woodwork. Sarah Construction will begin work on the veranda, which has been closed since 2008 due to OHS&W issues, in January 2012. Heritage architect Bill Kay has designed a new veranda that will be as close as possible to the original. The new design however, includes modern safety features and stronger construction principles. Bill will be able to keep an eagle eye on the progress of the works from his high rise apartment next door! The work will take about 2 months to complete. The project is made possible thanks to a Federal Government Environment grant, grants from the Adelaide City Council, and Lincoln College friends and alumni. If you would like to contribute to the project, please contact the Principal on 08 8290 6000 during business hours. The veranda will be officially re-opened in April as part of our Diamond Jubilee Celebrations.
