Lincoln College Scholarship and Awards Dinner 2012

The Lincoln College residential community was joined by honourable guest the Governor of South Australia, His Excellency Rear Admiral Kevin Scarce and the members of the College’s Council on Monday 23rd April 2012 to present the College’s hardworking university students with a total of 17 scholarships.

Before presenting the scholarships, His Excellency lauded collegians and the 2012 scholarship winners for their good work and outstanding efforts in showcasing the best of residential living. “One of the most significant benefits of your attendance in Lincoln College is the presence of such a diverse group of students” he told the gathering.

In his address, His Excellency said: “The opportunity to study and mix with such a diverse range of students not only provides a richly rewarding educational experience, but it also helps us to understand the motives and aspirations of our neighbours.”

“The Scholarships and Awards Committee received 35 applications this year. Over 30 of them were outstanding. This is the strongest field of applicants I have seen to date” says the College’s Principal, Ms. Bec Pannell. “I sincerely hope that this is just the beginning of all that our scholarship recipients will achieve – Lincoln scholars are hard working, they make courageous decisions, they speak up against injustice, and they change the world in whichever way their talents and education lead them to.”

Lincoln College is a university residential college in North Adelaide, striving to support and bring out the best in their residents while emphasizing the importance of the need to strike the right balance between formal education and contribution to community.

Lincoln College and Lincoln College Council wholeheartedly congratulate their residents on their university and collegiate successes.
