As part of our mission, Lincoln works towards looking after the "whole person" - heart, mind, body, soul. What better place for contemplation, renewal and friendship than a garden? Please support this year's Annual Appeal projects and help us create wonderful places for our residents to gather together and talk, think about life, or take a break from the rigours of academic study.

Lincoln's gardens and outdoor areas are in need of shade, shelter, seating and colour - there is space but not place! Our country residents love nothing better than to take their work outdoors and bask in the sunshine, our international residents have a penchant for creating wonderful garden plots of colour and herbs. And there's always a footy to kick and a basket to get at the key. Let's enhance these opportunities together.

Our vision includes extra seating such as garden benches throughout and a covered gazebo near the flag pole at the entrance to the College with wireless internet access. Trees along the boundary of the East lawns will help to create shade and shelter. Rose bushes in front of Federation and Abraham will add beauty, fragrance and style, native plantings throughout the College will bring the birds! Community arts projects such as murals and mosaics will add life and interest.

Most critically however some predictions estimate a rise in water supply costs by up to 75% within a year. We have identified the Adelaide parklands recycled GAP project as imperative: connecting to recycled water will ensure that the gardens, including our 5 significant trees, survive long term at a cost that we can afford. Our heritage buildings suffer under the strain of dry soils and it is crucial we take care of our grounds to prevent damage to College buildings.
