At Lincoln, we encourage you to get involved in a wide variety of sporting, cultural and social activities, regardless of your skill level. There really is something for everyone.
Music and the arts
Our art and creative writing competition attract many entries from talented residents every year. The winning creative writing entries are published in the resident’s magazine and the art entries are hung around Lincoln.
The student created and appointed ‘music band’ offers the musically inclined to join and participate in weekly practices and perform in the inter-college Battle of the Bands.
Residents are also offered the opportunity to engage in art projects around the college such as the Indigenous mural where students were assisted by Aboriginal artist Nish Cash to design and produce an artwork of cultural significance. You can learn more about the project here.
As an active member of SAUCC (the South Australian Association of University College Clubs) Lincoln competes in a variety of sports including swimming, hockey, soccer, football, table tennis, debating, basketball and much more. We enjoy the friendly rivalry between the other Adelaide residential colleges. All skill levels are welcomed and we love having people on the sidelines to cheer us on.
Recognising that physical fitness is an important component of health and wellbeing, Lincoln provides weekly group personal training sessions available to all residents for the free throughout the term. These sessions are available to anyone of all fitness levels and loved by everyone who attends.
With Lincoln, the spacious lawns and basketball half-court are perfect for a friendly match or practice at any time. The Adelaide summer sunshine also makes the lawns the perfect place to relax.
Lincoln gives residents the freedom to explore their interests with student created clubs providing a chance to pursue individual interests. Clubs celebrating films, fitness and food are enjoyed by residents throughout the year.
