The mentor program letting you give back to the next generation of students
Do you remember feeling a little daunted, like there were so many paths you could take, but not knowing how to choose?
Do you wish you’d had a mentor to help prepare you, give you some guidance and advice into what working life would or could look like, and where you should start?
At Lincoln College we have always helped our students achieve their academic goals, and now we are taking it one step further by providing them with an opportunity to work with a mentor.
That’s where you come into it. We are proud to introduce a new program linking our college residents and alumni.
Lincoln Links - the mentor program
Available to our residents 3rd year or above, this program is to help create a path into the workforce for them.
What is it?
Lincoln will be providing a new layer of support by linking our residents with a mentor from their future workforce.
What does it look like?
Think of it as 3 – 2 – 1…
Coffee sessions with their mentor, to learn about the field they are studying, listen to your knowledge and help them plan for their first step into the workforce.
Assistance with getting “recruitment ready”, by reviewing their resume and taking them through a mock interview.
Your introduction to a person within their chosen profession.
That’s six high-impact contact points, but a world of difference for the resident entering the working world.
When a student enrols in this structured program, they will commit to being prepared for the time they have with you. You can set the times for the coffees/review/interview to take place, which provides you great flexibility.
Don’t underestimate the impact you could have on one of our students and their future.

Other networking opportunities
We aim to provide all our residents with valuable information and professional advice as they develop their skills and gather experience as they look to the future and to where their careers might take them.
Industry dinners, seminars, professional lecture series, careers advice, debates and leadership and resilience training are some other opportunities that residents can take advantage during their stay at Lincoln.
If you want to share some of your knowledge and experience with a keen group of residents, contact the Dean for more information.
